Introduction
Ms. Hoang Thi Lan Anh was born in 1986 in Loc Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, Vietnam.
In the world of paintings, there is also the presence of a beautiful and energetic disabled girl Hoang Thi Lan Anh. Lan Anh is a victim of polio at the age of 3, making her left hand completely paralyzed, and her right hand can only move slightly. Looking at Lan Anh, I have not yet imagined how she embroiders. Only when I look at her skillfully using both her hand and feet to embroider, I really admire her will to not give up. Only the perseverance and extraordinary will can make it. Not possessing both functional hands to hold the needle and thread, she creatively uses her feet. Hands and feet support each other in each needle line and stitch. "At first, it was really difficult for me, bleeding hands and feet from time to time, but then I got used to it," Lan Anh said. Up to now, Lan Anh has not only mastered the basic embroidery lines, but also proved to be skilled with difficult embroidery techniques such as kerning embroidery techniques, contouring shapes, embossing leaves veins, calyx, phoenix eyes etc. Those tireless efforts brought Lan Anh the first prize in the embroidery contest for the artwork “Sunflower” organized by “Co Tu Theu Thua” fan-page in 2020.
The embroidery products made by Lan Anh are shown at different events organized by AEPD, such as the 1st Accessible Art Festival in Quang Binh, AEPD workshops and the Talk’s Café.
