Introduction

Ms. Cao Thi Men was born in 1967 in My Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, Vietnam.
She got a bullet pined into her backbone causing a paralysis in both her legs. The trauma happened to Ms. Men when she was five years old, in 1969.
She was supported by AEPD to attend different training courses, especially the rattan knitting training that helped her become not only a professional rattan knitter but a master trainer, who has retained the rattan knitting skill for tens of other women in her communities and neighborhood.
Ms. Men, with backing support from AEPD, has established a women group of rattan knitting in her community.
